Dans le cadre d’un documentaire intitulé Amy sorti le 8 juillet dernier, un extrait a été diffusé sur Internet où on peut voir la chanteuse (disparue en 2011) enregistrer la chanson Back to Black avec le producteur britannique Mark Ronson. En mars 2006 à New-York, les deux personnes étaient en pleine session d’enregistrement, sept mois avant la sortie du futur tube. Les paroles et la mélodie ont été écrites en deux ou trois heures et la version finale a été enregistrée en une seule prise.
